The IMPACT LGBT Health and Development Program is based at Northwestern University and is directed by Dr. Brian Mustanski.
Our mission is to conduct translational research that improves the health of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and to increase understanding of the development of sexual orientation and gender identity.
We study resiliency, sexual health, mental health, and substance use, with a primary focus on adolescents and young adults.
We seek to achieve our mission by developing innovative, evidence-based interventions; collaborating with the LGBT community; training the next generation of LGBT scholars; and disseminating research findings to scientific and general audiences.

Hey ;). I'm 16 and I'm also bi. I haven't come out to my family yet, but I think that it's not nessesary. They don't HAVE to know yet. Do it when you're ready, try to find out what your parents for instance think about bisexuality. Get to know their thoughts about it by mentioning for instance someone on tv who's gay or bi... Things like that. And be sure to.. Build a kind of safety net amongst your friends to fall back on, people that support you no matter what. ;).
I am so scared to cone out that I'm bisexual. I'm afraid my parents wont be as close to me. I'm only 15 and I was thinking if I should wait till I'm 18. Help!
